Materials and Construction

The shackle is constructed from 16mm case-hardened steel with a manganese core that resists cutting and sawing. The crossbar features a reinforced steel housing with a protective vinyl coating to prevent scratches on your bicycle frame. The locking mechanism uses a 10-disc tumbler system that provides exceptional resistance to picking and bumping techniques.

Proper Locking Technique

For maximum security, we recommend using the Sheldon Brown method: Position the U-lock around the rear wheel, passing through the rear triangle of the frame. This secures both the frame and rear wheel with the U-lock. Then use the included cable to secure the front wheel to the U-lock. Always try to lock to immovable objects that cannot be easily cut or removed.

Warranty

The Fortress Security U-Lock comes with a 5-year warranty against manufacturing defects. Additionally, we offer a key replacement service if you lose your keys (registration required).
